CORE Myofascial Therapy
CORE Myofascial Therapy
is a full-body treatment that promotes structural
alignment, functional performance, flexibility, and body awareness.
The main technique for this work involves slow, deep, myofascial spreading, with some joint mobilization and stretching. CORE Myofascial Therapy is not a passive massage. You wear shorts— along with a tube top for women—and periodically perform small movements at specific joints to mobilize muscle fibers and, thus, enhance treatment effects. After I have completed work on one side of your body, you will have the opportunity to get up from the table in order to stand and walk in gravity. This kinesthetic feedback allows you to assess the effects of the work; it also heightens your awareness of how your body can feel.
CORE Myofascial Therapy requires a minimum of two hours to complete work on the entire body. The focus of this work is general; therefore, specific work can be addressed in a different session. Some people find, however, that full-body balancing helps to remediate chronic issues.
Fee for CMT 2+ hour treatment: $135
